CAMPS DE CONCENTRATION POUR CHIENS
LES PUPPY MILLS DU QUÉBEC

RECENT EVENTS :

Lamarche & Pinard are hell bent on bringing the population of over 300 breeding dogs at the puppy mill down to the 75 that they publicly reported to CTV News. They are doing this in the same brutal way that they have always gotten rid of dogs that are no longer useful to them. They load the dogs into a van and drop them off along the back roads around the area of the puppy mill. These dogs are in terrible condition to begin with and do not survive. We have found and rescued many from the back roads. A man who lives on one of these back roads reported that 3 weeks ago, 5 St-Bernards of which 3 were females with their undertrack hanging to the ground were found near his house. He said they were skin and bones. Two weeks later, he found a Bull Mastif, and a week ago, two English Bulldogs. They are always abandoned on a Friday. I have requested to speak with this man and am waiting to hear more.

Animaquebec who had every reason in this case to apply Bill P-42 and close this torture chamber, chose instead, in their great wisdom to guide the millers on how to run a puppy mill. How utterly disgusting. They are in Quebec City, what do they know about L&P's methods of reducing the population ? Out of sight out of mind.

Animaquebec has told them to replace the many broken windows. About a month ago L&P removed the windows in the small breed section, leaving them wide open to the westerly winds and rain. The dogs were heard crying all through the night. The windows are still not in. Within the last week or so, L&P allegedly sold all the small long fur breeds to a farmer in St-Lazare who will now become another infect miller. L&P have put all the short haired dogs, e.g. Corgies, Beagles, etc. and put them outside in the pens beside the mill. These short haired dogs are not equipped to be outside in this cold, wet, damp weather. AND NOBODY CARES! Least of all Animaquebec who is not doing the much needed follow-ups to ensure to safety of these dogs.

Any method that L&P can find to get rid of unwanted breeding dogs is used. It was reported to me that about 2-3 years ago, L&P had 5 six month-old Husky pups hacked to death with an axe. Nothing is beyond these psychopaths methods of brutal elimination. It would have been in Animaquebec's interest to pay attention to the informer who quit despite the SPCA's rumour mill that this man was a disgruntled employee. The informer has tried many many times to speak with Animaquebec. I was there one day when he almost begged one of Animaquebec's director to come to the mill and see for herself what this place was like. She was in Montreal that day, and told him that she did not have a car. He told her to borrow her parents car. Her response was that she didn't want to involve her parents in this. The directors at Animaquebec have put themselves on a much higher level than to lower themselves in visiting a puppy mill.

We know that the L&P vet went in at midnight shortly after the blazing fire behind the mill shortly after the 1st demo, not to treat sick dogs but to sign a letter certifying that all the dogs in there were okay. L&P allegedly sent this letter to Animaquebec who bought it hook line and sinker.

In the two videos that were taken 2 days apart, there were dead dogs and puppies. Three dead adult German Shepherds stacked one on top of each other and a puppy on the top rack in the furnace. If we saw all of this, not to mention the horrific fear, and neurotic behaviour of the dogs, how come Animaquebec's own vet when on his visits to the mill sees none of this. Could it be that Animaquebec gives L&P a heads up to let them know that they are coming, or is someone else tipping off L&P, giving them time to get rid of the sick and dead dogs. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG GOING ON and we the public at large, and animal rescuers who have offered Animaquebec help in removing the dogs from this CANINE Hell and who have been ignored demand action and answers. The many petitions that have been forwarded to the powers that be, have brought NOTHING. The thousands of calls and emails to Animaquebec, and to the Minister of Agriculture have brought no action. The status is quo.

The SPCA now has a petition letter on their site regarding puppy mills.

Where was the SPCA when the informer brought pictures, the ones seen on our posters which we carry when we hold a demo ? These very pictures showing horrific pain and suffering, and was told by this very same SPCA to leave it alone because it was too big. Why is Barnotti suddenly, after years of knowing about this puppy mill taking action in the form of a petition ?

It is a known fact that this SPCA wants the Animaquebec contract. Is this his way of trying to get it ? The animals would be going from the frying pan into the fire, if this ever came about. IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO TRULY CARES ABOUT THE SUFFERING OF ANIMALS IN THIS PROVINCE? WAKE UP QUEBEC!

What they do with used up dogs

This afternoon at 3:10, my neighbour and I drove to St-Polycarpe to look for the two GS dogs that a man reported having seen near his property. He told me that they looked to be in the same shape as the St-Bernards he had seen abandoned on his back road in the past. As soon as we got to the Rang, there they were looking for food in the field. I parked and got right down on the road and I had hot dogs which I give to my dogs as treats. They did not notice them because they were too scared. They crossed the road to the other side and started to walk south, I drove passed them and got down low on the road. I did this several times, they went down a ravine where they watched to see what my next move would be. I went to the back of the van and carried a huge bag of dog food and put it by the side of the road. I cut the bag open and began to toss handfuls of kibbles on the grass. They both started to smell the air and started to come toward the food. I talked very softly to them. One was so hungry, he did not notice that he was eating out of my hand. They moved south again, I got in the van and moved with them. Finally, I realized that I needed back up. I drove to Mr. Nault's house, the man who reported them in the first place. As I pulled into his lane, my neighbour said Nicole come quickly there's someone else trying to catch them. We drove back. The man followed the dogs to the river and made them go down. He reached over and pushed one in, he then grabbed him by the fur of the neck and carried him to the back of my van. This man was amazing. We spent almost 2 hours trying to get the second shepherd. We covered at least ten square acres. Finally, I called for back up again. My friend Diane came with meatballs with rice and garlic. It was too late, the shepherd was crossing farmer's fields from one forest to the other. We walked and drove, and walked and drove. There were 5 of us trying to get him, but sadly we were unsuccessful. They were just skin and bones, and very very scared of humans. The one that got away, had the saddest face I've ever seen. He was running on 3 legs, he had cuts or bites on his upper left back leg, and there was blood on his nose. The two men who had done most of the walking through fields and forest were totally exhausted. Not to mention that it was freezing cold outside.

In between trying to find the second dog, we tried to give the first one more food. He just lay there with his back to us and was in shock. He did not move at all, frozen in fear. It was getting quite dark out and we decided to stop for the night. Mr. Nault suggested that we leave the first one tied to an insulated dog house in his yard and most probably, the second shepherd would come looking for him. We agreed that this would be the only way for us to get the second dog.

Mr. Nault put a large bucket of kibble in the dog house, and a large bucket of water just outside. I tried to put a collar on the first dog being very careful knowing all there is to know about fear biters. He was passed all that. He had given up the fight and just lay there with his eyes open, not moving at all. The man who had caught him in the river pulled him toward me and I put a collar on him. He then carried this pitiful and defeated pile of bones to the dog house. The dog went straight into it, and as far in as he could. Diane gave him a meatball but he was too scared to take it. We all had a happy moment when we caught the first one and we were all terribly disappointed to watch the second one run for his life. We are hoping that he will find his friend in Mr. Nault's back yard. I will call first thing in the morning. Mr. Potvin, Diane, and I will go again tomorrow morning to look for him. Mr. Nault will call us if he comes back. On Monday morning I will bring hopefully both shepherds to my vet for clinical evaluation and treatment. Without a doubt, these are puppy mill dogs, and most probably abandoned by Lamarche & Pinard in the fashion that Mr. Potvin has described so many times.

To think that L&P will be sleeping deep and hard tonight in their cozy warm beds, one in his marble mansion, and the other who cares, while we are half dead, and broken hearted over two sad, ravished, abused, neglected, terrified skeletal beings, who have hearts beating in their chests, and blood flowing through their veins which is more than we can say about the sleeping psychopaths that are causing so much pain, suffering, stress, and grief to all who cross their paths. There has to be a hell somewhere, someday, with their names on it L&P's Pietro Ruscito's and Serge Boudreault's HELL HOLE! May they rot in hell. SHAME on our governments who too, are sleeping well at night, and who totally ignore our cries for help to pass the laws to protect animals that we have been begging for. To think that I owe the feds $1200 on my income tax and can't find a toll to pay them and they're going to take action. They will probably withhold my pitiful pension and what the heck, I'm living on nothing now, if I wasn't vegan I could eat kibbles as I get these from the many kind hearts who support Teja's. Just something else for me to worry about. Gosh knows that most rescues are in the same situation as I am. Most of what I get goes to Teja's anyway. That's enough out of me. I'm off to take my tranquilizer, the only thing I can count on to knock me out for a few hours to stop the pain from my broken heart, only to start the whole ball rolling when I first wake up. Inutile de vous dire que nous vous demandons fortement de ne pas signer la pétition que Pierre Barnotti de la SPCA a mis sur son site :

http://www.spcamontreal.com/news.php?lg=fr&id=2
