Pour changer le Québec et créer un environnement sécuritaire pour nos animaux,, il faudra s'unir et toutes ensemble, entreprendre un programme d'éducation du grand public.

Si vous pensez ne pas avoir le talent pour ce faire, détrompez-vous. Chaque petite action compte et l'information que vous donnez à un ami, à un membre de votre famille, peut créer une vague dont vous n'avez pas idée. Les médias sont corrompus par la mafia animale et nous ne pouvons compter sur eux pour diffuser l'information. Leur recherche de sensasionnalisme nuit à la cause animale. Qu'à cela ne tienne, ensemble nous trouverons le moyen en 2008 de sauver d'autres petits êtres sans défense et réduire la cruauté qui nous assaille tous les jours.

IL FAUT QUE ÇÀ CESSE ! Et d'après ce que je vois, nous sommes les seules par qui ce mouvement se fera. A nous de jouer, mais ensemble.

Que 2008 devienne l'année pivot où le Québec s'est pris en main et a décidé de défendre ses animaux. Au lieu de dépenser des énergies pour obtenir de nouvelles lois, essayons de voir comment celles qu'on a pourraient être mieux appliquées. Comment convaincre les policiers que les animaux, comme les femmes et les enfants, ont besoin de protection, non d'indifférence et de harcèlement ? Beaucoup de procureurs de la Couronne sont des femmes dont on s'attendrait à de la compassion. Alors pourquoi elles ne veulent pas porter d'accusations dans des cas flagrants de cruauté ? Il faudra aller les voir et leur demander.

Au lieu de mettre des énergies sur la cruauté qui sévit ailleurs dans le monde et envoyer notre argent à IFAW, on va la mettre dans nos propres causes. Comme celle de Nicole Joncas qui nous annonce un procès retentissant au printemps où l'inaction d'Anima-Québec et du MAPAQ sera mise au grand jour. Il faudra être présentes en Cour pour supporter cette cause car c'est la nôtre à toutes. Trop de gens croient encore qu'A-Q a été créée pour aider les animaux. Cet organisme a été inventé par le MAPAQ pour nous faire taire. Leur inaction est calculée par les bureaucrates et l'UPA qui mènent le ministre. Ne vous faites plus d'illusions là-dessus. A preuve, la présence d'un représentant de l'industrie des animaleries sur le conseil d'administration.

Les bureaucrates ne connaissent rien en protection animale et se fient à ce que la mafia animale leur dit. A nous de prouver le contraire. A nous de rejoindre toutes ces poudrées et les seigneurs en habits Armani qui se font passer pour l'élite. Ce n'est que l'argent qui les mène. Il faut que le ton change et qu'on soit plus présentes dans les officines et les bureaux de députés pour parler des vraies affaires.

The Crown Prosecutor of Valleyfield, Quebec did not press charges against Perigord or Aux Champs d'Elise, two forced fed duck factories where Global Action Network (GAN) of Montreal had hours of footage over periods of weeks of the horrific cruelty inflicted on the ducks by mentally deranged indivuals hired by these producers. The Crown Prosecutor said that there was lack of evidence. Why could I not sleep for days after the footage shown on television?

p.s.: Following numerous acts of cruelty that were filmed by GAN (Global Action Network)in a Marieville (Quebec)duck farm (Aux Champs d'Élisé), no charges will be laid against the owner, as a Crown lawyer had decided that there is not enough evidence to prove that there was animal cruelty involved at this farm ...----------------------------------------- WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

In French below, essentially the owner Elise Francois of Aux Champs d'Elise blames GAN for filming the young psychopath cutting a duck's throat with a knife just because he could. I saw the footage and it was horrendous. What makes a Crown Prosecutor become so cold and accepting of this kind of behaviour. Could it be because Fois Gras is a big business in Quebec, and why does the Quebec government pay these so callled businesses 40% of their operating costs?? Why do so many businesses in Quebec who live off the backs of animals, always get away with heightened cruelty? Is it for the money?

Sur un document vidéo, on voyait entre autres un employé couper violemment le cou d'un canard vivant. Un avocat de la Couronne a estimé que les preuves étaient insuffisantes et qu'il n'y avait pas matière à déposer des accusations. L'entreprise ne compte pas poursuivre le Réseau Action Globale.

(PC) - La ferme d'élevage Les Champs d'Elisé, de Marieville, en Montérégie, a été exonérée de tout blâme par la Couronne, malgré une enquête du Réseau action globale, qui présentait des images de traitements cruels infligés à des canards engraissés pour en faire du foie gras.Selon TVA, le procureur de la Couronne affecté au dossier a indiqué que l'entreprise n'a rien à se reprocher. Il a déterminé que la preuve était insuffisante dans ce dossier.Le Réseau action globale avait présenté une vidéo dans laquelle on avait vu un adolescent de 14 ans en train d'égorger un canard vivant avec un couteau de chasse. Le jeune avait été congédié. Le propriétaire de l'élevage, Elisé François, interrogé par TVA, a déclaré que le réseau avait agi de façon immorale et a profité de l'inexpérience du jeune homme pour lui demander de faire des gestes inappropriés. Malgré la mauvaise presse, M. François n'entend pas poursuivre le réseau.

Quebec already has the dubious reputation of being the puppy mill capitol of Canada. Is it also the cruel and inhjumane forced fed duck factory capital of Canada. Quebec is on a role! Who do we turn to for an investigation? Certainly not the Ministry of Agriculture as they're the ones who give the 40% operating budget. Quebec is so desperate for businesses to establish in their province, that anything goes.

While I'm on the subject of cruelty, animaquebec, the underling of the Ministry of Agriculture did a sezure of over a hundred dogs a few months ago in St-Paul de la Croix. Abeit these dogs were not in a doggy haven but animaquebec's intervention made matters worse. animaquebec who admitted publicly that they are in partnership with the Berger Blanc, a dog pound in the Laval area.

The dogs, many of which were sled dogs, e.g. Huskies, Malamutes, etc. and others that according to the owner had been dumped on his property by locals were noosed and thrown into the back of a Berger Blanc van for transport to the dog pound. The owner of the dogs whose case is still in the courts, claims that an employee of the Berger Blanc brutally kicked one of his dogs who was protesting too much while on the noose. He said the employee kicked her repeatedly in the face the chest and the stomach until the animal stopped thrashing. He said that there was a 4 foot pool of blood that circled the dead dog.

Denis Levesque from TVA interviewed the man whose case is still in the courts. The man had spoken that very morning to his lawyer who had visited the dogs at the Berger Blanc and she claimed that the Berger Blanc was a scrap yard. Denis Levesque himself said that he had received many emails in the past attesting to the fact that the Berger Blanc was a puppy mill. The interviewer asked the director of animaquebec if it was true that an employee of Berger Blanc had kicked a dog to death? She denied this incident. His next question should have been "were you there"? 5 dogs have died since their removal from the man's property. Did they die in the van in a free for all during transport, over a long distance and under a great deal of stress? animaquebec is having an autopsy done to determine what the dogs died of. Will we ever know the truth?

Keeping in mind that the man's case is still in the courts, animaquebec assessed the man's dogs stating that 14?? were deemed unadoptable and will be put down. Keep in mind as well that none of the dogs were examined by veterinarians. animaquebec sold these dogs as is, hence not spayed or neutered. Is animaquebec doing all they can to control the pet over population? Is this not a great opportunity for puppy millers, and brokers who sell dogs to laboratories to appropriate dogs at $50 a head.

When asked by Denis Levesque from TVA how could they sell the dogs when the man is appealing the judgment, the director of animaquebec replied that a judgment by a judge gave them the authority to dispose of the dogs. Question..... is there a law for all of the people, and a law for animaquebec????

Why is it that when we turn over blatant and concrete video footage of heinous cruelty, perpetrated on harmless and defenseless creatures, these psychopaths never get charged! Could it be about the money it generates to the coffers of the revenue department???? If Canada was in the shape of a cow, quebec with its lack of animal protection would be right under the tail.

I first wrote a logical deconstruction, then the cable went out and I lost the post because I didn't save it. Rather than recreate it, here's what was really going through my head while I was being calm and diplomatic...

I've been thinking a lot about moral development and about the people involved in breeding, feeding, mutilating, torturing, transporting and slaughtering nonhuman animals.

At every twist and turn, I find myself asking, "How does a person (usually a man) do that?" What kind of mental acrobatics are required to convince yourself that your behavior is acceptable? How do you, day after day, justify feeding feces and rendered meat to animals whose natural diet is grass? And when you hear shrieks of pain or smell the noxious air in their barely ventilated spaces, how do you not collapse with guilt and grief?

What do you dream of at night after you've skinned animals alive? If you believe in a god, where does that belief fit in? Would your god find your behavior acceptable? Do people who torture animals go to church on Sunday and are they active in their communities? (Probably.) Do they selectively forget or alter what they've done in their minds to get them through the day?

When we talk about moral development, outside of Howard Lyman and several other exceptions, we don't ask farmers to evolve (their financial well being is anathema to moral development). We have pressured farmers to pretend to evolve through cage-free egg campaigns and the like, but I think now it's pretty clear that there's no real moral imperative manifesting itself anytime soon from the "production" side of the equation. Perhaps that's why we concentrate on the "consumption" side, where there's a higher probability of conversion.

Many vegans say that eating meat is the same as killing the animal yourself, but it's not. Paying someone to kill someone for you may make you just as guilty legally, but when it comes to the physical act, it's not the same. It's far easier to eat animals than to kill them.

So where are the breeders, branders, mutilators, transporters and slaughterers on the spectrum of moral development? Do we dare say they are a bit developmentally delayed? It's not just that they have a moral system that they don't apply to "others;" what they do is so much worse. They routinely torture, in the course of business, and it's perfectly legal. Who is to blame for that? Is it the entire system/country that is developmentally delayed and they are mere products of their environment? Is it fair to hold individuals responsible? If they branded, mutilated and slaughtered dogs they would be held responsible.

Culture may be responsible for some of the highest expressions of some of our abilities (that we used to think were unique). But it's also responsible for the perpetuation of the most hideous behavior, which is then justified as "honest work." There's something very wrong with what we consider honest work in this country.
